grayscale is the color level, refers to the brightness degree, is the determining factor of color number.
The higher the general grayscale, the more colorful the display screen, the more exquisite the screen, more easily show the rich details. The gray level of full-color LED display is mainly decided by the A/D conversion bit number, and the improvement of the system processing bit will involve the system video processing, storage, transmission, scanning and so on.
At present, LED display manufacturers mainly use the following four kinds of processing systems, but also the formation of four different levels of gray:
1.8-bit processing system, that is, 256 (2 of 8) level of gray. There are 256 variations of brightness from black to white. RGB Three primary colors can be composed of 256x256x256=16777216 color, that is 16 trillion color.
2.10-bit processing system, that is, 1024 (2 of 10) level of gray.There are 1024 variations of brightness from black to white.
3.12-bit processing system, that is, 4096 (2 of 12) level of gray.There are 4096 variations of brightness from black to white.
4.14-bit processing system, that is, 16384 (2 of 14) level of gray.There are 16384 variations of brightness from black to white.
Gray level is not the higher the better, because the human eye resolution is limited, in addition to the system to deal with the number of digits, the system will be video processing, storage, transmission, scanning and other requirements increased, resulting in the overall cost of higher costs, but decreased.
