1, DVI interface
The DVI interface is relatively large in terms of interfaces such as VGA, HDMI, and DP. It is the most important type of LED display interface.
DVI (Digital Visual Interface) interface, namely digital video interface. DVI can transmit digital signals without digital-to-analog conversion, so the picture quality is very high. At present, there are two common DVI interfaces: DVI-Digital (DVI-D) and DVI-Integrated (DVI-I). DVI-D only supports digital signals, while DVI-I supports not only digital signals but also supports DVI-I. Analog signals, which means that DVI-I is more compatible.
The biggest advantage of DVI interface transmission is fast speed and clear picture. The transmission of DVI is digital signal without the need of digital → analog → digital cumbersome conversion process, which greatly saves time, and effectively eliminates smear while speeding up the speed. phenomenon. This makes DVI more fine-grained than high-resolution VGA, and is less susceptible to signal interference.
The DVI-I jack is compatible with digital and analog connectors, so the DVI-I jack has 24 digital pins + 5 analog jacks (the four pinholes and a cross flower next to it). The DVI-D socket is a pure digital interface, so the DVI-D socket has only 24 digital pin jacks (there are no analog four pin holes and a cross flower). Therefore, the DVI-I jack can be plugged into the DVI-I and DVI-D connectors, and the DVI-D jack can only be connected to the DVI-D's pure digital cable.
It is worth noting that the DVI interface can only transmit image signals and support for digital audio signals is not considered at all.
2, VGA interface
VGA (Video Graphic Array), video graphics array, VGA interface is the computer's dedicated interface for VGA standard output data, a total of 15 pins, divided into 3 rows, each row of 5 holes, is the most widely used interface type on the graphics card, Most graphics cards come with this interface. It transmits red, green, and blue analog signals as well as synchronization signals (horizontal and vertical signals).
The working principle is: the image (frame) signal stored in digital format in the video memory is analog-modulated into an analog high-frequency signal in a RAMDAC, and then output to a display device for imaging.
Many people think that only the HDMI interface can transmit high-definition signals. In some cases this is a misunderstanding. Because the VGA connection can also display 1080P images, the resolution can be even higher.
3, HDMI interface
HDMI is a new generation of multimedia interface standard, which stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. Chinese means high-definition multimedia interface. It is the same as DVI to transmit all digital signals. The difference is that HDMI can not only meet the resolution of 1080P, but also support digital audio format, which means that a single line can achieve synchronous transmission of video and audio. It can be said that the HDMI interface is an improvement over the DVI interface. It is fully compatible with the DVI interface standard.
Compared with DVI and VGA, the HDMI interface is smaller in size, but because its port is smaller and there is no reinforcement device, it is easier to loosen. Therefore, the application in LED splicing/processor is not as wide as DVI and VGA.
4, SDI interface
The SDI interface is an acronym for "serial digital interface". Coaxial cable is used and BNC interface is used as the cable standard. In other words, in the process of converting an existing traditional analog frame system to a high-definition monitoring system, there is no need to re-wiring and only the front-end and back-end parts need to be replaced. This will save huge time and labor costs for the project. Therefore, the use of LED splicing/processors has gradually increased in recent years.
5, DisplayPort interface
DisplayPort is a display interface released by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). Referred to as DP, as the successor to the DVI interface, DisplayPort will add support for high-definition audio signal transmission while transmitting video signals, and at the same time support higher resolution and refresh rate. As high-definition video is about to become popular, there is no high-bandwidth display interface that cannot be established. At the beginning of DP, it can provide bandwidth as high as 10.8Gb/s. Even the HDMI1.3 provides less bandwidth than DP1.0. In addition, DP shares a cable in addition to audio and video signals. More functions can also be implemented on the cable. It is undoubtedly the greatest degree of integration and control of peripheral equipment.
However, due to limitations in various aspects, the DP interface is still not the mainstream interface of the LED splicing/processor, but its superior transmission quality, high scalability, and more reliable content protection technology will surely be a new trend.
